A series of infrastructure projects in Ho Chi Minh City are being rushed to completion, with construction expected to begin before July 2, ahead of the city’s 50th anniversary of being officially named after President Ho Chi Minh (2/7/1976 – 2/7/2026). Vingroup also said the islands would help mitigate wave action, currents, and sediment to improve safety and durability in the challenging marine environment at the inlet. The company aims to be the project investor, targeting completion and an in-service start in early 2029.
