Vietnam Airlines flight VN524 from Ho Chi Minh City to Shanghai diverted to Hong Kong for an emergency landing after a passenger developed a health issue. The Airbus A350, carrying about 250 passengers, had passenger T.A.T, a Vietnamese national, sitting in seat 1K with a health condition that did not improve after initial medical aid. The cabin crew initiated medical procedures and coordinated with on-board medical responders. After evaluating the situation, the crew decided to divert and land in Hong Kong to allow the passenger to receive medical care as soon as possible. Upon notification from the captain, a Vietnam Airlines representative in Hong Kong coordinated with local airport authorities to arrange ambulance and ground support. The aircraft landed in Hong Kong at 10:59 local time. After the aircraft stopped, local medical teams quickly attended to the passenger and arranged further treatment. VN524 then departed again to Shanghai at 12:10 local time. Vietnam Airlines notes that diversions or unscheduled landings to assist passengers have occurred before, including landings at Kolkata, Istanbul, Da Nang, and Hue in other routes. Passengers are advised to monitor their health before each flight and seek medical advice if any symptoms appear to ensure safety.
