In accordance with the Vietnam Fatherland Front’s charter and the organization’s full-term work program, on the afternoon of April 12, 2026, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front held its 7th meeting of the X term to discuss and solicit opinions on several matters within its competence.
At the meeting, 100% of delegates voted to approve the written proposal on the consultative appointment of personnel to the Front’s Committee, the Presidium, and the positions of Vice Presidents of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee for the X term, 2024–2029, for:
Delegates also continued to discuss the draft documents to present at the 11th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for the 2026–2031 term.
Commenting on the content of the draft Political Report to present at the Congress, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Doan, former Vice-President of Vietnam, non-executive Vice-President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and President of the Vietnam National Association for Promoting Education, said the Front has achieved many notable successes in recent times.
She highlighted the Front’s active participation and contribution to the resounding success of the elections for the 16th National Assembly and for People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term, as well as to many important political events in the country.
Mrs. Doan said the draft Political Report’s directions and tasks for the new term follow the spirit of the 14th Party Congress and the Politburo’s resolutions, and are integrated into seven concrete action programs, especially the program to participate in developing science and technology, foster innovation, build a digital society, and accelerate digital transformation within the Front system.
She also noted that the draft Political Report demonstrates determination by focusing on the grassroots and using citizen satisfaction as a yardstick to assess staff performance, with content evaluated based on clear attribution of people, time, and results.
Mrs. Doan proposed that, in the section on directions, targets, and breakthrough tasks—together with institutional breakthroughs and administrative reform—there should be stronger reform of thinking about the Front’s position and role in the new situation and the Front’s role in its work.
"The Vietnam Fatherland Front needs to renew its operating methods, shift from administrative management to the creation of modern governance, create a cultural environment, foster a joyful, positive, united, and understanding atmosphere, and mobilize the whole society to participate in Front work," Doan suggested.
Commenting on the content of directions, targets, and the action program for the 2026–2031 term, Mrs. Tran Thi Bich Mai, a prominent figure from the San Diu ethnic group, expressed strong agreement and support for targets including:
