Crypto.com will co-present the UFC “Freedom 250” combat sports event on the White House grounds on June 14, marking America’s 250th birthday, according to an announcement from UFC and the crypto exchange.
Crypto.com will distribute a $1 million fighter bonus pool to selected athletes on the UFC Freedom 250 card, paid out in CRO tokens. With CRO recently trading above $0.068, the pool is currently equivalent to nearly 14.6 million CRO tokens.
UFC President and CEO Dana White said the event is designed to produce standout performances, adding that Crypto.com is providing what he called the biggest bonus in UFC history.
The card includes a lightweight title fight between champion Ilia Topuria and interim champion Justin Gaethje in the main event. Former two-division champion Alex Pereira will also seek an unprecedented third UFC title against Ciryl Gane.
The event will stream on Paramount+ in the United States and coincides with Crypto.com’s 10th anniversary.
Crypto.com co-founder and CEO Kris Marszalek said the company is “humbled” to join its long-standing UFC partners as co-presenting partner of Freedom 250.
The partnership between Crypto.com and UFC dates to 2021, when the exchange became the sport’s first Official Fight Kit Partner. The companies have also collaborated on official UFC digital collectibles (NFTs) via the Crypto.com platform.
UFC also lists VeChain as a blockchain technology partner, and FIGHT as a licensed token on Solana and BNB Chain. In addition, UFC has tapped prediction market platform Polymarket for an exclusive partnership.
Separately, the announcement referenced a Polymarket trader who reportedly turned a $500 bet into a $252,000 win after noticing a “scoring error” related to an incorrect fight outcome announced on the broadcast.
The announcement also noted Crypto.com’s alignment with President Trump’s business endeavors, including a relationship with Trump Media & Technology Group for crypto ETF offerings and CRO integrations across Truth Social and Truth+ platforms. It also cited a CRO treasury company effort and a broader prediction market push.
