On the afternoon of May 12, citing information from the General Department of Customs, authorities said they intercepted more than 14,500 expired cosmetic products intended for sale.
Through inspection of a batch of cosmetics imported under the A11 category (consumer retail import) by H.G Trading-Import-Export Services Co., Ltd., customs authorities found that the company declared the goods as DR WONJIN HYAL-8 TONER 750ml, brand DR WONJIN (Korea), 100% new, transported from Hong Kong to Cat Lai port.
Subsequent checks showed the batch consisted of 14,550 bottles that had expired for nearly a year. The expiration date on the carton and on the product was August 16, 2025.
Authorities also continued to detect an import batch under A11 (consumer retail import) of HP Co., Ltd. with suspicious signs. Team 3, the Anti-Smuggling Investigation Sub-Department, coordinated with Cat Lai Port Customs and the Customs Control Team of the II Regional Customs Department to conduct a physical inspection of the shipment.
The inspection found five lots, totaling 15,790 sealed products, that were not declared to customs. Authorities said 1,440 products (48 cartons) of SOLEX were counterfeit.
According to information from the General Department of Customs, more than 3,000 counterfeit products from well-known brands in a shipment to Cambodia were detected and processed during the inspection of a transit shipment from Cat Lai port to Cambodia by LS Co., Ltd.
