Da Nang People’s Committee Deputy Chairman Ho Quang Buu chaired a meeting to report and propose organizing the program “Da Nang Ngoc Linh Ginseng Journey: Sâm Ngọc Linh Ginseng & Medicinal Experience Space – Da Nang” at An Hai Night Market.
The meeting was held in person, with online participation from Tiên Phước, Nam Trà My, Tra Linh and Tra Tập—localities known for growing precious medicinal herbs, particularly Sâm Ngọc Linh.
Under the proposed plan, the program would be organized monthly at An Hai Night Market (An Hai Ward, Da Nang), tentatively on the second Saturday and Sunday each month, running from 18:00 to 23:00.
The fair is expected to include about 15–20 booths, featuring displays of fresh ginseng and characteristic medicinal herbs such as Tra My cinnamon, đẳng sâm, lan kim tuyến, and wild honey.
The program would also include a processing and product experience area, along with a space to introduce deep-processed products derived from Sâm Ngọc Linh.
Key highlights are experiential and cultural activities, including gong performances, folk games, and a workshop on distinguishing genuine Sâm Ngọc Linh from counterfeit herbs. The program would also feature presentations on the cultivation process and the story of Sâm Ngọc Linh as a “national treasure.”
Trade promotion activities are planned to connect product consumption through digital platforms, QR codes, and links to e-commerce platforms.
The program aims to build an experiential space to introduce, promote, and market medicinal herb products with a focus on Sâm Ngọc Linh. It is intended to support Da Nang’s night economy and strengthen linkages between the mountainous region and the city, while establishing a product showcase with clear origin in Da Nang to improve brand recognition and help protect consumers from counterfeit or low-quality goods.
In the longer term, the initiative is expected to evolve into a center for introducing and promoting Da Nang’s medicinal herbs, linked with the OCOP ecosystem and tourism attractions.
In concluding the meeting, Deputy Chairman Ho Quang Buu essentially approved the proposal and appreciated the plan to establish the Sâm Ngọc Linh and medicinal herbs experiential space at An Hai Night Market to broaden promotion of the city’s characteristic products to domestic and international consumers.
He urged the program to be organized methodically and sustainably, aligned with the development of the night economy and regional linkages, with special emphasis on origin and quality to safeguard the reputation of Sâm Ngọc Linh and other medicinal herbs from Da Nang. He also directed relevant departments to coordinate with the Sâm Ngọc Linh Association of Quảng Nam to finalize plans, clarify operating mechanisms, management, quality control, security, and environmental sanitation, and to add measures to increase interaction to attract residents and visitors to the locality’s特色 products.
