The Government Inspectorate is reviewing and addressing long-standing, stalled projects in Hue City to unlock investment resources, improve land-use efficiency, and support economic and social development. In a working session with the Inspectorate’s delegation, officials analyzed issues related to legal frameworks, planning, land, and investment procedures to identify solutions.
On the afternoon of May 9, the Government Inspectorate’s delegation, led by Chief Inspector General Nguyen Quoc Doan, met with Hue City authorities to review the status of projects facing difficulties and backlogs and to propose remedies for each specific case.
At the meeting, Hue City leadership summarized the overall progress of the review and proposed guidance to form the basis for actions in accordance with the law. Hue City said that removing delays in project implementation is a key task to unlock resources, improve land-use efficiency, bolster public investment, improve the investment climate, and promote local socio-economic development.
After the Government Inspectorate’s directive, Hue City assigned the City Inspectorate to lead coordination with relevant departments and localities to review, synthesize, and classify projects by content group. The city also said it will clearly define authority and responsibility for handling and propose remedies for each specific case.
Hue City Chairman Nguyen Khac Toan said the city considers inspection, examination, and review of backlog projects a core task to promptly identify difficulties, remove obstacles, and create conditions for projects to proceed effectively. He also requested the Government Inspectorate continue guiding on remaining policy and jurisdiction issues.
Participants discussed procedures and methods for review, including principles for handling projects that have undergone inspection, auditing, or examination. The meeting also covered remedies for cases involving legal, planning, land, and investment hurdles, along with responsibilities for coordination among authorities.
In his concluding remarks, Chief Inspector General Nguyen Quoc Doan acknowledged Hue’s proactive and serious approach to the targeted review of projects with difficulties, obstacles, and long-standing backlogs. He urged the city to continue following central directives and ensure reviews, inspections, and remedies are objective, rigorous, lawful, and within the scope of authority, while clarifying causes, accountability, and feasible solutions.
For issues beyond the city’s authority or where policy interpretations differ, the city was asked to compile comprehensive records and report to higher authorities for further action. Hue City leadership affirmed that the process will balance state management with investors’ legitimate rights and the region’s sustainable development goals.
