Hai Phong attracted more than 915 million USD of foreign direct investment (FDI) into its industrial zones and economic zones in the first quarter of 2026.
On April 9, the Hai Phong Economic Zone Authority said that in Q1 2026, investment attraction activities into industrial zones and economic zones produced positive results, with total registered FDI estimated at 915.3 million USD.
FDI realization in Q1 2026 exceeded the quarterly plan of 900 million USD by 1.7%. It also rose 93.9% year-on-year, reaching a level equivalent to 25.4% of the annual FDI attraction plan of 3.8 billion USD.
Domestic investment attraction in the same period reached over 22,646 billion dong, equivalent to 967.78 million USD.
The Hai Phong Economic Zone Authority attributed the results to administrative reform in investment, planning, construction, environmental management, and labor processes linked to digital transformation. It said these changes helped speed up investment timelines and procedures, promptly remove difficulties for investors, and support the progress of investment projects in the area.
Mr. Pham Van Thep, Head of the Hai Phong Economic Zone Authority, said that in Q2 2026 the authority will accelerate investment promotion. The focus will be on attracting FDI to ensure 2026 FDI attraction reaches from 3.8 to 4.3 billion USD as planned.
He added that the authority will also accelerate progress on investment related to planning the Southern coastal economic zone and the development of a specialized economic zone.
