Hanoi has paused about 175 projects whose boundaries overlap with the Olympic Sports City megaproject, according to a document issued by the Hanoi People’s Committee.
The Olympic Sports City megaproject covers about 9,171 hectares and has an estimated investment of 925.651 trillion VND. Under the plan, the entire project is scheduled to be completed by 2030.
Authorities identified approximately 175 projects with overlapping boundaries with the Olympic Sports City. Of these, about 150 are public-investment projects and 25 are off-budget projects.
Based on this assessment, the Hanoi People’s Committee issued Document No. 710, dated February 14, 2026, to suspend the overlapping projects.

As a result, authorities say time is needed to review and accurately determine the number of overlapping projects, so that handling principles can be unified and used as a basis to define boundaries, scale, and planning.
