On April 29, the Mỹ Thuận Project Management Board said the Hau Giang–Ca Mau expressway would officially commence operation at 11:30 local time today.
The maximum operating speed for vehicles on the Hau Giang–Ca Mau expressway is 80 km/h, with a minimum speed of 60 km/h.
In an interview with reporters from Người Lao Động, many residents expressed their joy at the news that the Hau Giang–Ca Mau expressway would reopen. “The reopening will help move goods to localities in the region and to Ho Chi Minh City faster. The Can Tho–Ca Mau expressway project, managed by the Mỹ Thuận Project Management Board, has four lanes and a main alignment of 110.85 km. The project is divided into two component projects: Can Tho–Hau Giang and Hau Giang–Ca Mau.
The Hau Giang–Ca Mau expressway had previously been temporarily opened to serve travel needs during the Lunar New Year. At that time, contractors and supervising units continued to complete the remaining items.
