A bridge across the Đồng Nai River linking Ho Chi Minh City with Đồng Nai Province is nearing completion and is expected to be put into operation by the end of June 2026. The Hiếu Liêm Bridge project is designed to support the construction and operation schedule of the expanded Trị An Hydropower Plant.
Once the structure is brought into service, it is expected to help ensure the hydropower project stays on track and to strengthen transport connectivity for areas along the Đồng Nai River. The bridge would also improve travel for residents in Đồng Nai Province to Ho Chi Minh City and facilitate trade.
Construction of the Hiếu Liêm Bridge began at the end of 2024. The project is classified as a secondary-class bridge, with a length of more than 249 meters and a width of 9 meters. It connects Tri An Commune in Đồng Nai City (formerly Vĩnh Cửu District) and Thuong Tan Commune in Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Bac Tân Uyên District, Bình Dương Province).
Construction is ongoing, with machinery operating in shifts. Current work focuses on deck-laying, road alignment, and completing related works. The project is reported to be about 80% complete.
Several major components have already been completed, including concrete for piers MA and MB, and 100% concrete for piers T1–T5.
While the bridge is not yet open, ferry services remain the only crossing option for residents.
