In Q1 2026, Hoa Phat Group produced 3.3 million tonnes of crude steel, up 25% year-on-year and 8% quarter-on-quarter. Steel product sales reached 3 million tonnes, increasing 26% year-on-year.
Hot-rolled coil (HRC) sales volume exceeded 1.4 million tonnes, up 48% year-on-year. The company said domestic consumption of HRC accounts for nearly 80% of output, with the remainder exported.
Hoa Phat has exported HRC to 20 countries across Asia, Europe, the Americas and Africa.
Beyond HRC, Hoa Phat supplied both domestic and export markets with processed steel products including steel pipes, galvanized steel and prestressed steel wires. In Q1, the group supplied 241,000 tonnes of steel pipes and 106,000 tonnes of galvanized steel sheets, up 30% and 19% respectively versus Q1 2025.
Prestressed steel and wire rod products reached over 62,000 tonnes, up 63% year-on-year.
Hoa Phat is Southeast Asia’s largest steel producer, with crude steel capacity of 16 million tonnes by late 2026. The company said more than 60% of output will be high-grade steel used for mechanical engineering, automotive, shipbuilding, oil and gas, household appliances, structural steel and energy.
It is currently the only Vietnamese company investing in hot-rolled coil (HRC).
Hoa Phat is implementing a rail steel and special steel plant project at the Dung Quat Economic Zone in Quang Ngai province. Three months after groundbreaking, the plant is reported to be 35% complete, with expected production of rail steel in 2027 to support Vietnam’s major rail projects and export markets.
