Ngô Anh Tuấn, a personal-accounts service specialist at MB Bank, was arrested on an emergency basis by Lam Dong police on allegations of fraud involving the manipulation of online loan applications and the embezzlement of 1.7 billion VND.
Investigators carried out an arrest warrant and searched Tuấn’s residence on 07 April 2026. Tuấn worked at MB Bank’s Lam Dong branch, where his duties included advising customers and preparing loan documents.
According to investigators, Tuấn exploited customers’ trust by providing false information that their loan documents were not yet complete. He then asked customers for their phones to carry out transactions.
Tuấn allegedly used the customers’ phones to access the bank app, complete online loan procedures, and transfer 1.7 billion VND to another account. He later moved the funds to his personal account for his own use.
The victims, investigators said, were not aware that Tuấn used their accounts to borrow 1.7 billion VND. After the embezzlement, Tuấn allegedly used the money for personal purposes. After the incident was discovered, the victims reported the case to the police.
Lam Dong Police Department warned the public to remain vigilant when seeking loans or loan renewals. The police advised that transactions should be conducted directly at bank branches or through the bank’s official apps.
Police also urged people not to allow others to use their phones or bank accounts to access financial applications, and to report any suspicious signs to the nearest police authority for timely guidance and legal handling.
To assist the investigation, the Lam Dong Police Investigation Office requested that anyone who is a victim or has information related to Tuấn’s actions contact the Lam Dong Police Investigation Office at 04 Tran Binh Trong Street, Cam Ly Ward, Da Lat, Lam Dong, or contact the Lam Dong Police Criminal Investigation Desk at 02633.822.097 for instructions in accordance with the law.
