Police investigators under the Ministry of Public Security have issued a decision not to prosecute a criminal case related to the charitable projects “Nuôi em” and “sucmanh2000,” founded and run by Hoàng Hoa Trung (born 1990, Hanoi).
Following reports of potential irregularities in the use of donations from benevolent supporters, the Criminal Police Department conducted verification and investigation. The results determined there were no signs of criminal activity; as a result, no criminal charges were filed.
“Nuôi em” began in 2014 as a charitable fundraising project initiated by Mr. Hoàng Hoa Trung. The initial concept was to provide highland students with meals including meat, with the aim of encouraging them to continue schooling.
In 2018, Trung changed the model to a “one sponsor for one child” scheme. Under this approach, each sponsor would support one child with 150,000 dong per month for nine months of the school year.
From the 2020–2021 school year, the project added an additional 100,000 dong for facilities. With this change, each sponsor’s annual contribution became 1.45 million dong per child.
According to the project’s website, beneficiaries include children aged 3–5 and primary students in grades 1–3 who do not receive government meals. For example, first- and second-graders living in villages or in other circumstances that do not meet government criteria.
The project also states that if a child becomes eligible for government meals in the following year, support would shift to another child while keeping the NE code unchanged.
