MXV, Vietnam’s commodities exchange, announced it has been formally awarded ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification for its information security management system on May 13 at MXV’s headquarters. The certification is issued under the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) framework, a step aimed at bringing MXV’s governance and operating infrastructure in line with international norms.
MXV said the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification is a milestone in standardizing operating procedures, strengthening data governance, and improving security for commodity trading in Vietnam. The exchange linked the move to the broader context of rapid digital transformation and rising data-security requirements across financial and commodity markets.
The certification ceremony took place at MXV’s headquarters with representatives from SQC Certification Services Pvt. Ltd. (the evaluator and certifier) and THT Technology Co., Ltd. (the implementation consultant), alongside MXV leadership and relevant departments.
Ms. Pham Thi Thuy Anh, CEO of SQC Vietnam and a member of SQC Certification India, said MXV’s ISO/IEC 27001:2022 achievement marks an important milestone in raising governance standards and information security in line with international practice.
According to SQC Vietnam, the certificate is issued under the international recognition framework of the IAF, indicating that MXV’s information security management system meets international standards for data control and security.
Nguyen Huy Duong, Vice Chairman of MXV’s Board, said attaining ISO/IEC 27001:2022 reflects MXV’s development strategy and its aim to build a modern, transparent, and secure commodities trading system aligned with international norms. He added that as digital transformation expands and security demands grow across the financial-market commodity sector, information security has become a foundational factor in improving operational quality and market confidence.
“Before achieving ISO/IEC 27001:2022 for information security, MXV had progressively implemented other standards to improve operating procedures toward a professional, transparent, and internationally aligned operating model. We are committed to maintaining international standards as part of MXV’s operating backbone and to expanding the adoption of new norms to enhance governance, service quality, and the market’s international connectivity of Vietnam’s commodities sector,” Duong said.
To achieve ISO/IEC 27001:2022, MXV worked with THT Technology Co. to design and implement its information security management system. The process included reviewing and standardizing procedures, upgrading the control system, and strengthening data governance.
SQC Certification Services Pvt. Ltd. noted that during the certificate’s three-year validity period, MXV’s information security management system will undergo annual surveillance to ensure continued compliance with ISO/IEC 27001:2022 while maintaining operational effectiveness and adaptability to evolving information-security requirements.
With Vietnam’s commodity trading expanding and international interconnectivity increasing, MXV said demand for robust operating infrastructure, data governance, and information security is rising. The exchange described its ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification as a key step toward professionalizing Vietnam’s commodities market and aligning it with international standards, supporting continued improvements in operational quality and security for trading activities.
