The Tax Department's electronic portal publicly released the list of 18 individuals who are directors or legal representatives of businesses in several localities and who have been subjected to travel suspension due to tax debts. The notice does not disclose the amount of tax owed by these individuals or organizations. The list of taxpayers subjected to travel suspension includes: Decree 49/2025/NĐ-CP, dated February 28, 2025, provides details on travel suspensions, applying based on the amount of tax owed and days overdue, as follows: - Individuals who are business owners or business household operators with tax debt of 50 million VND or more and overdue more than 120 days. - Individuals who are the legal representatives of enterprises, cooperatives, or unions of cooperatives with tax debt of 500 million VND or more and overdue more than 120 days. - Individuals who run businesses, are legal representatives of enterprises, cooperatives, or unions of cooperatives that no longer operate at the registered address with tax debt overdue, and after 30 days from the notice that travel suspension would be applied but have not fulfilled tax obligations. The decree also states that if a taxpayer has fulfilled tax obligations, the tax authority shall immediately issue a notice to cancel the travel suspension to the immigration authorities. The immigration authorities shall carry out the cancellation within 24 hours of receiving the notice.
