On 22 April 2026, at the Hung Temple Historical Site in Phu Tho Province, an incense-offering ceremony honoring the National Founding Ancestor Lac Long Quan was held, opening a series of activities for the 2026 Hung Kings Festival, the Hung Temple Festival, and the Cultural-Tourism Week of the Land of the Homeland.
At 7:00 a.m., the procession departed from the ceremonial square toward the Lac Long Quan temple in the sacred atmosphere of the Tam Son forbidden area and Mount Sim. Honor guards led the procession, bearing the national flag and the Hội flag, followed by a group of young women presenting offerings and flowers, a ceremonial music troupe, and a liturgical procession from Hy Cuong commune.
The ceremony was attended by Mr. Pham Dai Duong, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Tran Duy Dong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee and Chief officiant; along with provincial leaders, former leaders, and representatives from departments and agencies, as well as a large number of residents and visitors.
At the altar of the National Founding Ancestor, male officiants from Hy Cuong commune performed the traditional rites with a solemn prayer, expressing reverence and gratitude for Lac Long Quan’s contributions to the nation’s founding.
On behalf of the people, soldiers, and overseas compatriots, leaders offered incense, flowers, and offerings, praying for national prosperity, favorable weather, peace, and the people’s well-being.
After the official rites, thousands of residents and visitors offered incense and flowers in a reverent manner, expressing gratitude to the ancestors. The Dâng hương to Lac Long Quan and Au Co reaffirmed the enduring value of history and culture, fostered national pride, and promoted the ethic of “drinking water, remembering the source” in social life.
