Hung Kings' Temple Festival and Hung Temple Tourism-Culture Week 2026 in Phú Thọ marks a notable transition as the province organizes events in a new development space after consolidation. The series of activities this year is designed to gather cultural elements from across the homeland of the Hung Kings, while also focusing on expanding experiences for both residents and visitors.
Many traditional activities have been developed into tourism products, including a street culture festival, performances of Hat Xoan in ancient villages, promotion of local products, and various art programs. The program also includes night tours at the Hung Temple historical site, along with cultural and sports activities.
Alongside the festival, Phú Thọ has launched a 2026 tourism stimulus program with the themes “Phú Thọ – Come to Love” and “Phú Thọ Tourism – Multicolored Experiences.” The initiative aims to promote the local image and attract visitors from both domestic and international markets.
Pham Thi Hoang Oanh, Deputy Director of Hung Temple Historical Site, said preparations for this year’s festival were thorough and comprehensive. Organization work was implemented in a synchronized manner to create a solemn, respectful, sacred space to welcome a large number of visitors to offer incense and pay respects to the Hung Kings.
During the festival, the Hung Temple complex remained the main draw. In the two days of April 25 and 26, about 1 million visitors were estimated. The site connecting pilgrimage with wellness and ecotourism experiences is presented as opening sustainable development directions for tourism in Phú Thọ.
The festival is described as no longer a short event, but a catalyst for tourism growth, reinforcing Hung’s position on the national destination map.
After incense offering, many visitors continue to explore nearby destinations such as Tam Đảo, Đại Lải, Mai Châu, Hồ Hòa Bình, or Thanh Thủy hot springs, as well as Kim Bôi, among others.
