On April 9, 2026, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung signed Decision No. 666/QD-TTg assigning tasks to the Prime Minister and the Deputy Prime Ministers. Under the decision, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung will serve as Head of the State Steering Committee for national key programs, projects and works.
The State Steering Committee for National Important Programs, Projects and Works under the energy sector (the Steering Committee) was established by Decision No. 2433/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister. The Committee’s remit is to assist the Prime Minister by researching, advising, recommending, and proposing directions and solutions to resolve cross-sector issues, ensuring the progress of national key programs, projects and energy-sector projects in line with laws, National Assembly and Government resolutions, and the Prime Minister’s decisions and directives.
The Steering Committee also supports the Prime Minister in directing, coordinating, and urging relevant ministries, agencies, localities, and organizations to address important cross-sector issues during implementation, including:
Decision No. 2433/QĐ-TTg clarifies that the Ministry of Industry and Trade is the Standing Agency of the Steering Committee. It also lists national important programs, projects, energy-sector key projects, and related proposals under the Steering Committee’s remit, as proposed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade for the Prime Minister’s approval in line with the requirements of each stage.
