Singapore will raise the total number of VSIP industrial parks in Vietnam to 30 this year, according to the Prime Minister of Singapore. In a phone call with Prime Minister Lawrence Wong on April 16, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung said Vietnam is poised to adopt new policies to attract more foreign investment, including from Singapore. He proposed that Singapore assist Vietnam in building international financial centers, and in expanding and upgrading the Vietnam-Singapore (VSIP) industrial park network to a new generation tied to high-tech transfer. Photo: VGP On the Singapore side, Prime Minister Wong affirmed continued efforts to deepen economic cooperation, especially upgrading the VSIP network. He noted that Singapore will raise the total number of VSIP industrial parks in Vietnam to 30 this year, to mark 30 years since the project’s presence in Vietnam. Singapore pledged to continue supporting Vietnam in training and developing human resources, particularly at the strategic level. VSIP (Vietnam-Singapore Hi-Tech Industrial Park) has existed since 1996 under bilateral cooperation. VSIP now has more than 22 industrial parks in 15 provinces/cities. VSIP aims to attract green FDI and high-tech, with a strategic focus on smart, sustainable industrial parks.
