A BTC miner working in CKpool’s solo mining setup solved block 944,306 early Thursday and captured the full 3.128 BTC block reward. The payout included 3.125 BTC in subsidy valued at $221,800 and 0.003 BTC in transaction fees valued at $212, for a total of $222,012, according to Mempool data.
The win stood out because the operator used CKpool’s solo mining configuration, which allows an individual miner to keep the entire payout if they find a block. CKpool developer Con Kolivas highlighted the improbability of the outcome, noting that a miner with about 70TH of hashpower faces roughly a 1 in 100,000 chance of solving a block per day—an expectation of about once every 300 years.
The miner credited with the solve was identified as “bc1q~edvj,” with the post noting the miner had only 70TH. The block reward for block 944,306 totaled 3.128 BTC, with the subsidy and fees valued at $221,800 and $212 respectively, bringing the overall value to $222,012.
Mempool data indicated the miner contributed approximately 0.0000069% of Bitcoin’s estimated network hashrate of 1.02 ZH/s on April 9. By comparison, major public operators reported much larger hashrates, including Bitdeer at 71 EH/s and MARA Holdings at 61.7 EH/s. Despite the small share of network power, the solo approach enabled the miner to capture the full reward rather than splitting it with a pool.
CKpool operates differently from standard mining pools. While it functions as a pool, it is used primarily by individuals seeking to mine independently without running their own infrastructure. Participants accept a lower probability of finding a block, but if they succeed they keep nearly the entire reward minus a small fee. In this case, the structure turned a low-probability attempt into a full, high-value payout.
The block solve follows other recent solo successes. Kolivas noted that a CKpool user earned about $210,000 for solving block 943,411 after a 33-day drought, with an estimated 1-in-28,000 chance of success. Other cited examples include a $350,000 block reward in September and a $285,000 reward in December, each achieved by miners facing odds described as century-scale. The broader takeaway is that, even as industrial-scale mining dominates day-to-day operations, solo mining via CKpool can still produce rare but significant outcomes.

Premium gym chains are entering a “golden era” that is ending or already in decline, as rising operating costs collide with shifting consumer preferences toward more flexible, community-based ways to exercise. Long-term memberships are shrinking, margins are pressured by higher rents and facility expenses, and competition from smaller, more personalized…
