With a total length of 632 meters, the Bach Long Glass Bridge—part of the Moc Chau Island resort complex in Son La province—has been recognized by Guinness World Records as the world’s longest glass-bottom pedestrian bridge.
The bridge consists of a 290-meter span crossing two mountain peaks and a 342-meter cliff-edge walkway connecting the segments, bringing the total length to 632 meters.
Construction began in early 2021, and the attraction opened to visitors in April 2022.
The initial phase of the project required an investment of 773 billion VND, with Moc Chau 26 Tourism Joint Stock Company as the project developer.
Moc Chau Island has a total investment of 1,200 billion VND. The Son La Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said the project received investment licensing in February 2020 and was expected to complete components by Q2 2023. Phase 1, valued at 773 billion VND, has been completed.
According to the project description, the bridge is designed to international standards with the involvement of technical partners.
The system was evaluated by Kuraray (Japan) and subjected to stringent load tests, including truck-load testing, to ensure safety. The operator limits access to 500 visitors per session to maintain safety.
Moc Chau 26 Tourism JSC is headquartered at 144 Truong Chinh Street, Quyết Thắng Ward, Son La City, Son La Province. The company was established on April 19, 2019, with Mr. Nguyen Tien Khanh serving as CEO and legal representative. The company was assigned the Moc Chau Island project eight months after its founding.
At inception, charter capital was 100 billion VND, with Mr. Nguyen Tien Khanh contributing 80 billion VND, Mr. Bui Xuan Nam contributing 15 billion VND, and Mr. Mai Tri Tuệ contributing 5 billion VND. By February 2020, charter capital increased to 200 billion VND.
Mr. Nguyen Tien Khanh is also the legal representative and a board member and director of Song Da Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company (UpCOM: SDD).
Song Da Investment and Construction JSC was established in 1996 and privatized in 2004. It is part of Song Da Corporation and focuses on housing, urban development, and investment in small hydropower projects. The company currently owns hydropower projects including Tat Ngoang, Muong Sang 2, Chan Thinh, and Long Tao.
In 2025, revenue reached 11.32 billion VND, down about 10.3% from 2024. Net loss after tax was 11.08 billion VND, compared with a 2024 loss of 16.05 billion VND. Cumulative loss as of December 31, 2025 stood at 81 billion.
