Sun PhuQuoc Airways (SPA) is moving quickly to standardize the cabin interior across its fleet, aiming to improve the passenger experience while building the operational foundation needed to expand into intercontinental markets with a wide-body aircraft fleet, including a planned Boeing 787-9.
SPA’s reconfiguration focuses on its narrow-body fleet, centered on the A281, shifting from a priority on rapid aircraft turnaround to a consistent, standardized guest experience in an “Élégance Indochine” style. The airline positions the upgrade as part of a broader effort to develop a unified “genetic code” for its brand identity across the journey.
The Economy cabin has been upgraded with seat pitch increased to 29–31 inches. SPA will use Hawk Infinity seats from the UK, featuring an ergonomic design, USB charging, and a weight-optimized structure intended to improve comfort while reducing fuel burn and CO2 emissions.
In Business class, seats recline by 15 degrees, with a leg-rest extending to 238 mm (9.37 inches), designed to deliver a more relaxed, premium experience.
SPA’s upgrade emphasizes material and aesthetic alignment. All seats will be upholstered with premium full-grain leather imported from Switzerland, paired with an Ochre and Gold color palette to reinforce a consistent branding theme. The airline also highlights the use of “Élégance Indochine” and a “service from the heart” philosophy.
Leather treatment uses advanced mineral technology to support durability of up to 6 years while maintaining softness and natural breathability. The materials are stated to meet FAR 25.853 fire safety standards and to be free from harmful compounds.
SPA also describes the cabin atmosphere as a “resort in the sky,” shaped by warm color tones and the La Festa fragrance, with the goal of promoting relaxation and peace of mind.
Under SPA’s plan, the airline expects to complete interior standardization across its entire narrow-body fleet by October 2026, establishing a consistent experience standard on all routes.
Alongside narrow-body standardization, SPA is preparing for a growth phase using wide-body Airbus A330 aircraft. In July 2026, SPA will receive the first two A330s fully finished to the airline’s identity and configuration standards. These aircraft will be used for certification procedures and training for the AOC under Vietnam’s Civil Aviation Authority.
SPA expects the A330 fleet to begin operations from September 2026, enabling direct routes from Phu Quoc to long-haul markets including Kazakhstan, Russia, Uzbekistan, Australia, Mongolia, Oman, Czech and Turkey.
SPA also says the A330 rollout introduces a new Premium class for the first time on its long-haul network, in addition to fully-flat Business class.
SPA frames its A330 investment as an operational and experience step ahead of Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner deliveries. The airline ordered 40 Boeing 787-9 aircraft in February 2026, valued at USD 22.5 billion, with deliveries expected to begin from 2031.

Premium gym chains are entering a “golden era” that is ending or already in decline, as rising operating costs collide with shifting consumer preferences toward more flexible, community-based ways to exercise. Long-term memberships are shrinking, margins are pressured by higher rents and facility expenses, and competition from smaller, more personalized…
