Taxi Lavi, together with VinFast and GSM, has signed a memorandum of understanding to replace Taxi Lavi’s entire current fleet with 2,000 VinFast electric vehicles, while transitioning the operating model to a green transport technology platform advised and supported by GSM.
Under the agreement, Taxi Lavi will invest in and operate 2,000 VinFast electric vehicles, including the Minio Green, Herio Green, VF 5, Limo Green, and EC Van. The planned deployment will cover Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho, Khanh Hoa, and Da Nang, with the stated goal of replacing the entire fossil-fuel fleet with electric vehicles.
In addition to vehicle replacement, the parties will work to build a coordinated operating ecosystem. This includes charging infrastructure developed by V-Green and a dedicated service workshop network, intended to support efficient utilization and stable operation for a large-scale fleet.
At the signing ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Dung, Chairman of the Board of Ý Nghĩa Investment and Trading Co., said the signing marks a step in the company’s plan to electrify its entire fleet.
GSM said that, in addition to its in-house Green SM fleet, it is partnering with 100 transport firms and 11 bus operators nationwide to convert to electric vehicles.
According to information on the company’s website, Taxi Lavi operates in Ninh Thuan. It launched in September 2025, serving Phan Rang–Thap Cham with its first VinFast electric vehicles. The company aims to operate with electric vehicles and develop its own ride-hailing app in the local market.
Beyond Taxi Lavi, other transport firms also use VinFast electric vehicles. The Green SM electric taxi platform was established in 2023 and operates an electric fleet in Vietnam. Some taxi firms, including Thanh Nga, Bac A, Que Lụa, and Long Bien, have signed agreements to use VinFast electric vehicles through collaboration with Green SM.
Transport firm Dong Thuy (Lado Taxi) also plans to buy or lease VinFast electric vehicles in 2024–2026, while Mai Linh Group is implementing a partial fleet electrification.
