Top Vietnamese leaders awarded high honors at central ceremony

On the afternoon of April 3, at the Headquarters of the Communist Party, the Politburo and the Secretariat organized a ceremony to award the Independence Order, First Class Military Order, and the National Defense Service Order to senior leaders and key central bodies with outstanding achievements. General Secretary To Lâm presided over the ceremony. Attending were President Lương Cường, Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính, Chairman of the National Assembly Trần Thanh Mẫn, and other leaders, former leaders of the Party, State, and central agencies. At the ceremony, General Secretary To Lâm presented the Independence Order, First Class Military Order to Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính, member of the 13th Politburo; and First Class Military Order to: General Lương Cường, President of the State; General Phan Văn Giang, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defence; Nguyễn Xuân Thắng, Politburo member, former Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theory Council; Lieutenant General Trần Quang Phương, member of the 13th Central Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly; Nguyễn Chí Dũng, member of the 13th Central Party Committee, Deputy Prime Minister. The President and the Chairman of the National Assembly awarded the Second Class Independence Order and Second Class Military Order to several leaders of the Party, State, Government, National Assembly, and the People’s Army. The Prime Minister and the Standing Secretariat awarded the Third Class Independence Order, Third Class Military Order, and the National Defense Service Order to other leaders, senior officers, and key officials with long-serving contributions. In his remarks, the General Secretary underscored that awarding these high honors acknowledges important contributions to the nation’s construction and defense. The recipients, together with leadership at all levels, have participated in guiding and implementing strategic tasks with long-term significance for national defense, security, and development, especially during the XIII Party Congress term. The General Secretary affirmed that the country is entering a new development phase requiring continued united strength, building a national defense and people’s security, maintaining political stability, and creating a peaceful environment for rapid and sustainable growth. He also noted that the experience, wisdom, and prestige of those awarded will remain a vital resource for the Party, the State, and the people. Deputizing for the awardees, Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly Trần Quang Phương expressed honor at receiving the First Class Military Order and pledged to continue contributing within his capacity to the nation’s ongoing development.
