After nearly one year of construction, the Tu Lien Bridge project—investing about 20,000 billion VND—is accelerating, with multiple sections carried out in parallel and machinery operating continuously to maintain progress.
Located between the two major Red River crossings, the Nhat Tan Bridge and the Long Bien Bridge, the Tu Lien project connects Tay Ho ward with Dong Anh commune. The project is designed to form a new traffic axis and reduce pressure on the existing bridges in Hanoi.
The Tu Lien project has total investment of about 20,000 billion VND (Class A). The route begins at Nghi Tam Street in Tay Ho ward and ends at Truong Sa Street in Dong Anh commune.
Construction began in May 2025. The total project length is about 11.5 km, including a Tu Lien bridge section of about 2.9 km, with the main bridge nearly 1 km.
According to the design, the cross-section includes 6 lanes for motor vehicles, 2 mixed lanes, and 2 pedestrian lanes.
By mid-April, many sections are being implemented concurrently. On the river, barges are transporting construction materials such as sand, gravel, and cement to the work sites.
Key piers including P37 and P38 are under construction with high technical requirements. These locations use large-diameter bored piles, about 2.5 m in diameter, drilled down to around 65 m beneath the riverbed to ensure structural stability.
Residents in alley 310 Nghi Tam (Hong Ha ward, Hanoi) are actively relocating, demolishing houses, and handing over land to serve the Tu Lien Bridge project.
In Hong Ha ward, the total land area to be recovered is around 294,000 m2, affecting 732 plots. The affected land includes hundreds of residential plots, agricultural land, wetland areas, and some land managed by organizations.
To date, local authorities have completed surveying all plots. Hundreds of compensation and assistance plans have been approved, corresponding to more than half of the affected plots. Land handover has reached more than 179,000 m2, about 60.96% of the project’s total land area, and nearly 90% of the land area serving pier construction.
This land area supports construction of the majority of the main piers, from P10 to P37, along with multiple sub-piers on Au Co and Nghi Tam roads. Resettlement work is also underway, including land lotteries for hundreds of households in Thu Lam commune.
To safeguard construction timelines, local authorities have proposed additional temporary housing support for households that need to rent housing during the construction period. They also propose flexible mechanisms for cases not yet eligible for resettlement to ease pressure on residents.
Under the plan, the Tu Lien project is scheduled for completion in 2027. Once operational, it is expected to relieve load on existing bridges and expand urban development space toward the north of the Red River, supporting growth in the Dong Anh area in the coming years.
Premium gym chains are entering a “golden era” that is ending or already in decline, as rising operating costs collide with shifting consumer preferences toward more flexible, community-based ways to exercise. Long-term memberships are shrinking, margins are pressured by higher rents and facility expenses, and competition from smaller, more personalized…
