After more than three months of construction, the piers for two overpasses at the Láng Hạ – Giảng Võ and Nguyễn Chí Thanh intersections are gradually taking shape along Ring Road 1. The Hoàng Cầu – Voi Phục section is one of Hanoi’s key transport projects, completing the inner-city ring.
The Hoàng Cầu – Voi Phục section of Ring Road 1 is about 2.27 km long, with a 50 m cross-section. It connects the Hoàng Cầu area to the Voi Phục junction and has a total investment of more than 7,200 billion VND. The project is designed to reduce traffic load in the central area, connect major urban axes, and create new development space.
Due to long-standing site clearance issues, by the end of 2025 the parties involved had largely handed over the land to begin synchronized construction. Hanoi Party Secretary Trần Đức Thắng recently inspected the site and urged relevant units to remove obstacles and accelerate progress.
The project is advancing with roadbed works, drainage systems, and technical ducts being implemented in parallel. Many sections have been paved with asphalt concrete, and construction machines are operating continuously to meet the schedule.
The targets set for the project include completing the entire roadbed by September 2 and finishing construction of the two overpasses on the route by December 31.
At the Láng Hạ – Giảng Võ intersection, all six piers have been completed, reaching about 50% of the overpass volume. The contractor is preparing to install girders to complete the bridge’s upper structure.
At the Nguyễn Chí Thanh junction, the project has reached about 20% of the work. Main columns are under construction, and from June the deck construction will move to the beam installation stage.
Both overpasses are designed to run straight, separating traffic on the main axis and minimizing conflicts at intersections with high traffic density.
Implementation still faces obstacles, particularly at the Nguyễn Chí Thanh junction due to overlap with the urban rail line No. 5 (Van Cao – Hoa Lạc). Under the approved design, some items of the two projects overlap and must be reviewed and adjusted.
This crossing may affect the project’s schedule and could require changes to parts of the scope and volume at Nguyễn Chí Thanh. If necessary, the design may need adjustments to align with actual implementation conditions.
To ensure progress as required, the city People’s Committee will continue directing relevant departments to promptly address difficulties and obstacles based on proposals from the investor.
Ring Road 1 is described as a backbone of Hanoi’s transport network, helping ease traffic in the central area, open space for development, and link important parts of the capital. Upon completion, the route will form a cross-city spine connecting East to West, while also reducing traffic pressure on parallel routes such as Lang Street (Ring Road 2) and other heavily loaded radial routes.

Premium gym chains are entering a “golden era” that is ending or already in decline, as rising operating costs collide with shifting consumer preferences toward more flexible, community-based ways to exercise. Long-term memberships are shrinking, margins are pressured by higher rents and facility expenses, and competition from smaller, more personalized…
