Hanoi police held a press briefing on the status of the Bao Tin Minh Chau (BTMC) case. According to Lao Động, on the evening of March 25, 2026, police units arrived at BTMC’s gold trading premises at 15 Trần Nhân Tông Street in Hai Bà Trưng District and at 139 Cầu Giấy Street, among other locations. Multiple sealed boxes containing documents were moved to waiting vehicles, and by 5:30 pm officers had largely withdrawn.
BTMC operates four stores in Hanoi, including two outlets on Trần Nhân Tông, one on Mai Hắc Đế, and one on Cầu Giấy.
At a previous time, BTMC paused trading at several outlets and stated the pause would be short, with operations expected to resume at 12:00 on March 26. The company said it would continue ensuring the lawful rights and interests of customers, partners, and employees.
BTMC has previously faced regulatory violations. In May 2025, the State Bank Inspectorate announced administrative penalties against Bao Tin Minh Chau Co., Ltd. totaling 2.64 billion đồng for multiple infractions, including failures to comply with reporting requirements in gold trading and selling gold above the listed price. The company was also cited for breaches of e-commerce rules and for using digital technologies to trade gold, including not publishing information on shipping and receiving, complaint handling, or dispute resolution on its website.
Following the inspection, Tuổi Trẻ Online reported that the inspectorate’s findings indicated violations with signs of potential criminal liability. The Governor of the State Bank approved and forwarded information to the Ministry of Public Security for investigation and handling. The Chief Inspector of the State Bank also issued an administrative penalty of 2.64 billion đồng against Bao Tin Minh Chau for violations related to anti-money laundering controls and the bullion reporting regime.
According to Người Lao Động, from October 28, 2024, Vũ Minh Châu was no longer the legal representative; Phạm Lan Anh held the position of director and legal representative.
