VIB has launched Privilege Banking, a priority banking service designed to offer flexibility and personalized financial management, spending benefits, and a range of privileges for affluent clients.
The offering is positioned to respond to the fast-growing personal asset market in Vietnam. McKinsey & Company projects that total household financial assets could reach about $600 billion by 2027, as high-net-worth segments accelerate across Southeast Asia. The trend is shifting demand from single-asset accumulation toward multi-goal wealth management, including cash flow, investments, and asset protection.
Privilege Banking targets affluent clients who need a financial system that can adapt across life stages. VIB said the service meets its evolving financial criteria and provides comprehensive privileges across finance, cards, insurance, and lifestyle experiences.
According to Ms. Tuong Nguyen, Deputy General Director of VIB, the service architecture is built on three values: Dynamic—adapting to the client’s life pace; Unique—personalization across each financial journey; and Exclusive—privileges linked to long-term experiences.
In the Dynamic dimension, VIB said the financial system is structured into three layers: cash flow, accumulation, and investment. Idle cash can be optimized for yield while maintaining liquidity.
In the accumulation layer, VIB cited solutions such as iDepo and Hi-Depo to help preserve asset value and flexibly adjust mid- to long-term financial plans.
In the investment layer, the bank said clients can access diverse products through a partner ecosystem in insurance and finance, including Prudential and Kafi, combining growth with asset protection. VIB said the three layers together form a flexible framework linking cash flow, assets, and opportunities.
For spending, VIB said its priority cards for affluent clients—VIB Priority Signature and VIB Premier Signature—are designed around needs such as travel, dining, and shopping. Cardholders can earn up to 5% cashback and receive lounge access, with combined priority services at airports domestically and internationally.
VIB also said it applies a 1% foreign exchange fee, described as favorable for frequent international travelers.
In asset management, VIB said the service emphasizes a flexible funding structure. Clients can choose principal repayment options aligned with actual cash flow, and can use grace mechanisms to balance borrowing and investment.
VIB stated that financing limits can be set up to VND 500 billion to serve a broad range of personal and business needs.
VIB said the Unique and Exclusive aspects are delivered through a personalized experience on the MyVIB digital platform, including a dedicated space for affluent clients named Ownrora. The system can provide asset allocation suggestions based on cash flow needs and investment risk appetite, aiming to align asset management with individual goals and risk tolerance.
The bank also introduced an Aurora experience program. VIB said customers can accumulate Aurora Tickets by maintaining deposits, spending with cards, using insurance, or through referrals. Each Aurora Ticket provides a chance to own one of nine pairs of travel vouchers to view the northern lights for two people, valued at 400 million VND per pair.
The article also noted events and gifts, including limited-edition items for Premier clients. VIB said the program will continue refining the service ecosystem using data and technology and expanding the dedicated advisory team, with the objective of building a premier banking model that extends beyond financial products into a comprehensive asset-management platform.
