Vietjet has received two sustainability awards at the Top 50 Sustainable Development Enterprises in Vietnam 2026, recognizing its approach to environmental, social and governance (ESG) development. The airline was honored for both its transportation sustainability efforts and its human resources strategy.
At the event on 11 June, Vietjet received the “Outstanding Sustainable Transport” award and the “Human Resources Strategy for Sustainable Development” award. This is the third consecutive year the airline has been included in the Top 50 CSA ranking, reflecting its stated commitment to sustainable development aligned with a Net Zero target by 2050.
Vietjet said green transformation is a core development direction, supported by early adoption of digital technology and artificial intelligence (AI) to optimize operations, improve efficiency and reduce fuel consumption.
The airline also invests in a next-generation fleet, which it says can reduce fuel use by up to 20% and cut emissions by up to 38% compared with older aircraft.
In parallel, Vietjet reported ongoing research and collaboration in development, along with the gradual introduction of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) into operations toward Net Zero by 2050.
Alongside environmental initiatives, Vietjet focuses on building a multicultural and inclusive working environment. The airline has more than 9,000 staff from 66 countries and territories.
Women account for 43.55% of total staff and nearly 30% of management positions.
Vietjet also invests in human resources training through the Vietjet Aviation Academy, which it says meets European standards. The academy provides training courses for about 50,000 trainees annually, serving pilots, cabin crew, engineers and flight dispatchers for the airline and regional aviation.
Top 50 Sustainable Development Enterprises in Vietnam (Top 50 CSA) is an annual program organized by Investment Bridge Magazine to honor enterprises with growth strategies aligned with ESG criteria. This year’s results were evaluated by a panel of experts and leaders from both domestic and international organizations.
The program includes 16 categories: 14 categories are self-nominated or nominated, and two special prizes are selected by the jury.
Previously, Vietjet has been recognized at international awards in sustainability and workplace categories, including “Global Airline Sustainability Leader” and “Best Workplace in Asia.”
According to the company, the strategy aims to connect people and the economy while promoting green growth and international integration.
