He will continue to serve as a member of the Board of Directors and remains a major shareholder, transitioning to a long-term strategic advisory role.
According to the company, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tien resigned from the chairmanship effective 23 April 2026 for personal reasons. He committed to fully cooperate with the handover of duties, documents, and related responsibilities to ensure VLA’s operations continue smoothly, remain stable, and comply with relevant laws.

The resignation was announced shortly after VLA successfully held its 2026 annual general meeting on 16 April 2026, where all proposals were approved.
VLA said the company returned to profitability in the year following the AGM, with profit up 69%. The company also resumed paying dividends to shareholders after a three-year pause, at a rate of 5%.
VLA attributed improved results to a shift toward more profitable activities, including education services and real estate products with favorable margins. The company also reported cutting financing costs, administrative expenses, and ineffective investments.
While revenue was down versus the previous year, VLA reported that profits surged and exceeded plans by more than 70%, indicating improved profit quality with higher margins. The company said it prioritized efficiency over growth in scale alone.
