Zalo announced on April 23 a new feature designed to prevent others from taking screenshots of profile pictures to enhance user privacy. The feature will automatically detect and limit screen captures of profile photos on mobile devices; if a user taps to view the profile picture details and attempts to screenshot or capture, the result will display a black screen. According to Zalo, users can customize display and access settings for birth date, status, messages, calls, activity log, and friends to decide who can view, contact, or how their information is shown. How to set privacy: open Zalo, go to your profile, select Privacy, and customize. Users can also enable two-factor authentication to protect their account. When logging in on a new device with a password, the system will require an additional verification code. Through the security check feature, users can review important information such as account verification status, linked phone number, and app version; the system also provides guidance to improve security. With a few simple checks, users can actively protect their account and reduce the risk of intrusion or account takeover. Zalo’s representatives said security features will continue to be refined to deliver higher privacy and safety for users.
