Agribank is expanding cashless payment solutions, broadening trading infrastructure, and advancing digital finance in Vietnam’s Southwest region. The bank says the region’s network of rivers and widely dispersed populations have historically made access to financial services more difficult, and it has identified digital transformation as a strategic pillar to narrow that gap.
Agribank is accelerating its digital transformation by investing in technology infrastructure, developing an online trading platform, and deploying solutions tailored to local needs. The bank says the image of traders and farmers using mobile phones to transfer money, pay bills, or receive payments for agricultural produce through bank accounts is becoming more common.
To meet rising transaction demand, Agribank has introduced multiple digital products and services. The Agribank E-Mobile Banking app integrates 24/7 transfers, bill payments, mobile top-ups, ticket bookings, and online shopping.
The bank has also deployed QR Pay across stores, markets, supermarkets, and tourist sites, enabling customers to make payments by scanning a QR code instead of using cash.
In addition, Agribank is expanding its payments ecosystem through ATMs, CDMs, and POS devices connected to its digital banking platform to serve customers in remote areas. As of early May, the Southwest region has 523 ATM/CDM machines and nearly 1,500 POS machines in operation.
Agribank says it is implementing programs such as “cashless communities,” including payments for tuition fees, hospital fees, and social welfare disbursements via accounts in western provinces. The bank states these solutions help promote financial inclusion and improve convenience in daily life.
Agribank frames digital transformation as more than digitizing traditional services, saying it is building a digital financial ecosystem connected to agriculture and rural development. Through data connectivity, the bank says it gradually supports customers in managing cash flow and monitoring production and consumption of agricultural products. It adds that digitizing transactions can help capital circulate faster and more transparently, contributing to improved governance for households and enterprises.
In the context of agriculture shifting from “production” to “agro-economy,” the bank says digital banking plays a more prominent role. It states that beyond providing credit, it is participating more deeply in the value chain—from production and processing to distribution—through digital finance solutions.
Agribank says its goal is to build a platform that enables people to access capital, make payments, manage finances, and connect to markets using only a mobile device.
Agribank says young staff are a key factor in promoting digital transformation in the Southwest region. In many branches, the bank describes this group as a bridge between the bank and customers, helping guide people to open online accounts, use digital banking apps, and make cashless payments in a friendly and easy-to-understand way.
The bank also points to innovation through proactive proposals, process improvements, and upgrades to service quality, saying new models and approaches are being implemented across localities.
Agribank says strong digital transformation is a necessary requirement for sustainable development. In the Southwest region, it continues to expand digital services to more customer groups, especially in rural areas, while enhancing user experience, strengthening security, and aligning with local economic development.
According to the bank, digital transformation improves operational efficiency and supports inclusive finance, providing momentum for socio-economic development in the river and floating economy region.
Premium gym chains are entering a “golden era” that is ending or already in decline, as rising operating costs collide with shifting consumer preferences toward more flexible, community-based ways to exercise. Long-term memberships are shrinking, margins are pressured by higher rents and facility expenses, and competition from smaller, more personalized…
