Can Tho City Social Insurance (BHXH) has issued a warning to residents about scams impersonating BHXH staff to obtain personal information. Criminals are taking advantage of ongoing data synchronization between BHXH numbers, national ID information, and citizen identification details to appear legitimate when contacting victims.
According to BHXH Can Tho, scammers may contact individuals by phone or text to request updates, verification, or additional information related to BHXH. In some cases, they send links or QR codes instructing recipients to access them to “complete procedures.”
BHXH Can Tho said these messages are not genuine BHXH communications. The schemes are designed to install malware, steal personal data, or gain access to victims’ bank accounts.
BHXH Can Tho urged residents to remain vigilant when receiving calls, texts, or links that request BHXH-related personal information. People should not access unknown sources or share any OTP codes, bank passwords, or ID numbers with strangers in any form, including by phone, text, or social media.
Before carrying out any online transaction, residents should carefully verify the information source to avoid becoming victims of fraud.
BHXH Vietnam will automatically standardize data between citizen ID, personal identification number, and BHXH number from August 1, 2025. BHXH and health insurance participants do not need to declare or complete any additional procedures related to this data synchronization.
To protect personal information, BHXH Can Tho recommended that residents conduct BHXH-related transactions only through official channels, including the National Public Service Portal, the BHXH Vietnam Public Service Portal, or the VssID app.
For questions or support, residents should contact their local BHXH office for guidance and avoid acting on information from unverified sources.
