On April 20, the Road Traffic Division No. 7 (Traffic Police Department, Hanoi Police), in coordination with Thanh Xuân Ward Police, formed a task force to handle cases of drivers stopping and parking illegally on Nguyễn Trãi Street. Authorities said the crackdown targets a road undergoing construction for key city projects, where the roadway has been narrowed at several locations to facilitate construction. To ensure traffic safety along the route, signs were installed prohibiting stopping and parking in multiple areas. However, some vehicle owners still did not comply, leading to traffic obstructions.
To strictly address violations, the traffic police combined direct patrols with flycam (unmanned aerial vehicle) and AI cameras. The aim was to promptly detect infringements, issue tickets, and prevent traffic congestion.
In the early morning of April 20, authorities issued tickets to numerous drivers for stopping not at designated locations along Nguyễn Trãi Street.
Captain Nguyễn Việt Anh, an officer of Road Traffic Division No. 7, said that during their duties, authorities would use equipment such as flycam and AI cameras to film violations related to traffic order and safety and urban order. The recorded evidence would serve as a basis to prosecute violations in accordance with the law.
According to Captain Nguyễn Việt Anh, beyond violations under the road surface, the task force also intensified public outreach. Officers guided residents—especially sidewalk vendors—to comply with regulations, including parking vehicles in designated places, to help keep traffic moving more smoothly.
