Google is rolling out new AI features in Chrome in Vietnam, centered on direct Gemini integration within the browser. The updates are available first on desktop Chrome and iOS, while Android users can activate Gemini by pressing and holding the power button while using Chrome or other apps.
The new Chrome AI tools are designed to let users work on information without switching tabs. Using Chrome’s side panel, users can start a conversation with a personalized AI assistant by clicking an icon in the top-right corner of the currently open tab.
Google says the assistant can summarize long texts and help with tasks such as creating an outline of questions for exams. It can also answer questions based on the content a user is viewing—for example, “how can I turn this formula into a vegetarian dish?” The browser can also remember websites users have visited, reducing the need to keep multiple interim tabs saved for later.
Google says Chrome’s AI features connect work tools directly in the browser, including Gmail, Maps, Calendar, YouTube, and other apps. This is intended to help users process information immediately after discovering it.
With Gmail integration, users can draft and send emails without leaving the page they are viewing. Users open the side panel, request the email, edit the content as needed, and send with a single click. Google also highlights the ability to schedule meetings and view location details in Maps, as well as ask questions about a YouTube video being watched.
Gemini in Chrome can operate across multiple open tabs, allowing users to cross-check and synthesize information within a single interface. Google describes examples including consolidating information gathered for planning a team-building event, or building a detailed product comparison across different sites while shopping for plant-based protein powder.
Google has integrated Nano Banana 2 into Chrome to transform images. Users can type a command in the side console to describe the desired outcome, and Nano Banana 2 performs the transformation without uploading files or opening a new tab. Google provides an example of using the tool to mix furniture styles before deciding what to buy.
Google says the new features are built with a security-first approach. It reports that AI models are trained to recognize potential threats, including indirect prompt injection, to help protect users during web browsing. The system also includes confirmation barriers for sensitive actions such as sending emails or adding events to a calendar.
To validate these multi-layer defenses, Google uses automated red-teaming to continuously strengthen protections. It also points to Chrome’s automatic update capability to deploy patches quickly in response to new threats.
Google says these features mark the next chapter in making the web more accessible and useful for users in Vietnam. The company adds that it will continue adding more features and expanding regional and language coverage throughout the year, with additional updates to come.
Premium gym chains are entering a “golden era” that is ending or already in decline, as rising operating costs collide with shifting consumer preferences toward more flexible, community-based ways to exercise. Long-term memberships are shrinking, margins are pressured by higher rents and facility expenses, and competition from smaller, more personalized…
