During the Hung Kings Commemoration holiday on the 10th day of the 3rd lunar month and the 30/4–01/5 holidays in 2026, Da Nang city welcomed more than 1.46 million visitors, up 35% year-on-year. Total tourism revenue is estimated at over 5.727 trillion VND.
Da Nang’s tourism promotion and communication activities were implemented synchronously and effectively, in close coordination among authorities, agencies and travel businesses. As a result, tourism demand during the Hung Kings holiday and the 30/4–01/5 period in 2026 increased significantly compared with 2025.
According to statistics from the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, during this year’s long holiday period (25/4/2026 to 3/5/2026), total visitors to the city were about 1.46 million, up 35% from 2025.
Of these visitors, international arrivals were about 621,000, up 24%, while staying guests were about 724,000, up 31%. Total tourism revenue was about 5.727 trillion VND, up nearly 35%.
Notably, visitors to Da Nang during the holiday sought higher-quality services than in previous years. While the citywide average room occupancy was about 75–80%, occupancy in four- and five-star hotels and equivalents rose to 90–95%.
One factor contributing to the increase in international visitors was the docking of the STAR VOYAGER cruise ship at Tiên Sa Port on 29/4/2026. The cruise brought 1,500 passengers and more than 1,000 crew members, with staff and visitors joining tours to Da Nang’s destinations such as Ngũ Hành Sơn (Marble Mountains), Linh Ứng – Sơn Trà, Cham Sculpture Museum, Hoi An, My Son and Cam Thanh Coconut Forest.
Ms. Truong Thi Hong Hanh, Director of the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said the number of tourists improved during the Hung Kings holiday and the 30/4–01/5 period in 2026. She noted that security and safety measures were implemented effectively, and that activities, events and festivals for residents and visitors were organized successfully.
The Department directed relevant departments, units and tourism service enterprises to implement cultural and arts events, information promotion, physical education and sports, and tourism activities to ensure rich content and variety in form, while providing services throughout the holiday and actively preparing rescue operations.
To help residents and visitors follow and participate in cultural and arts activities, sports events and tourism events, the Department provided and publicized information on holiday programs to relevant agencies and units, and regularly updated information for press and broadcasters.
Among the political, cultural, sports and tourism events designed to attract residents and visitors, notable programs included the “Opening of Da Nang 2026 Beach Tourism Season” themed “Bright Summer” from 25/4 to 03/5/2026 at East Sea Park, Son Trà Peninsula and beaches including Phuoc My, My An, My Khe and Nguyen Tat Thanh.
Other highlighted events included the Keep Da Nang Blue environmental festival and Son Tra Walking Day.
In addition, the tourism stimulus program for 2026 “Da Nang - Touching the Original” was linked to intensified product communications and travel programs aimed at attracting visitors during the holiday. The city also launched “Top 100 touchpoints in Da Nang” in 2026, along with the program “Sounds of My Son” on 26/4/2026 and the festival “Colors of Cham Heritage.”
Premium gym chains are entering a “golden era” that is ending or already in decline, as rising operating costs collide with shifting consumer preferences toward more flexible, community-based ways to exercise. Long-term memberships are shrinking, margins are pressured by higher rents and facility expenses, and competition from smaller, more personalized…
