Ly Son, a special zone in Quang Ngai province, is drawing large numbers of tourists with its natural scenery and cultural-historical heritage. During the 30/4–1/5 holiday in 2026, the island has become an ideal destination for thousands of domestic and international visitors, according to the Ly Son Special Administrative District People’s Committee.
During the holiday period, 119 accommodation facilities in Ly Son are reported to be fully booked, indicating a busy travel season. Hotels, guesthouses, and homestays are operating at full capacity to meet rising demand, reflecting growing interest in family, group, and experience-focused travel.
One of the main factors behind Ly Son’s appeal is its landscape. The island is known for blue beaches, fine white sand, and vibrant coral reefs. Visitors can take part in outdoor activities such as swimming and snorkeling to view coral reefs, as well as visit key attractions including To Vo Gate, Hang Ca, Chua Hang, Thoi Loi Peak, and Be Island.
Ly Son also offers cultural and historical relics linked to the Hoang Sa (Paracel) Hoang Sa Battalion, described as important historical evidence related to defending Vietnam’s sovereignty over seas and islands. Visitors can learn about the country’s history while enjoying the coastal environment at sites such as the Lang Tan Whale Skeleton display house and the Hoang Sa naval battalion museum.
During the festival period, visitors can also join distinctive cultural activities of local coastal residents, notably the Tu Lin traditional boat-race festival. The event is presented as a cultural tradition that reflects solidarity and strength among the people of Ly Son, while also giving visitors a chance to experience the region’s cultural values.
Local authorities on Ly Son have prepared a plan to welcome and serve visitors, focusing on price control, security, order, environmental hygiene, and service quality.
Maritime transport and intra-island transport have been strengthened, with increased frequency of high-speed boats. Authorities are also ready to add trips as needed to match the higher travel demand during the holiday.
With the combination of natural scenery and cultural-historical heritage, Ly Son is increasingly positioning itself as a leading island destination in Vietnam’s central region, supported by strong visitor demand during the 30/4–1/5 holiday period.
