OpenAI’s chief operating officer, Brad Lightcap, is reportedly switching roles as part of a broader leadership overhaul, according to the Financial Times, which cited an internal company memo dated April 3.
The Financial Times reported that Lightcap is set to take on new duties focused on “special projects.” The report describes him as one of CEO Sam Altman’s top lieutenants and says he will oversee efforts to promote AI adoption among businesses.
Denise Dresser, who joined OpenAI from Salesforce as chief revenue officer, will take on most of Lightcap’s previous responsibilities, the report said.
The Financial Times also reported that Kate Rouch, OpenAI’s chief marketing officer, will step down from her post as she recovers from cancer. The outlet said she is expected to return in a different role, and that OpenAI is seeking a new head of marketing.

In a statement, OpenAI said it has a leadership team focused on its biggest priorities, including advancing frontier research, growing its global user base of nearly 1 billion users, and powering enterprise use cases.
