After more than a decade of construction and repeated delays, the Beltway 2.5 segment from Đầm Hồng to National Highway 1A is nearing completion, reshaping the southern gateway of Hanoi. Many components have been finished, enabling smoother traffic flow on the route connecting to the Kim Đồng – Giải Phóng underpass.
In early May 2025, the segment from the Đầm Hồng area to No. 192 Le Trong Tan alley (about 300 meters) was reported as basically completed. The works include a finished asphalt surface, lane markings, and installed traffic signs.
Previously, from February 10, the segment from No. 192 Le Trong Tan alley to the connection point with the Kim Đồng – Giải Phóng underpass (about 1.28 km) was opened technically to serve residents’ travel needs.
Across the full line, supporting components such as sidewalks, greenery, and street lighting have been completed uniformly. At the end of the route, the connection to the Kim Đồng – Giải Phóng underpass has been opened, creating a new look for the southern approach to the capital.
In the Đầm Hồng area at the start of the route, the roadway cannot connect in sync yet because the Vành đai 2.5 segment from Nguyễn Trãi to Đầm Hồng has not been implemented. As a result, this portion remains a terminal link for now.
Residents along the route said the project’s restart and ongoing completion have noticeably improved daily travel, particularly at the southern gateway of the city.
Hoàng Mai – Hà Nội Investment Construction Co., Ltd. said that by late April 2026, remaining land clearance issues affecting two households in Phương Liệt ward—covering about 60 square meters—will be resolved. Relevant units are clearing assets and moving belongings to enable dismantling works. After the final land area is taken over, the contractor will proceed with finishing sidewalk works at the Tran Nguyen Dan intersection area.
The Beltway 2.5, Đầm Hồng – National Highway 1A project began in 2014, with a length of about 1.6 km and total investment of over 1,300 billion VND under a BT contract. The project was initially expected to be completed in 2017, but clearance issues and related BT contract procedures led to repeated delays.
By 2020, the project had reached only about 40% of the volume and then had to pause. After roughly five years of suspension, the project was restarted at the end of May 2025.
Once the entire route is completed and connected in sync, the project is expected to help relieve traffic pressure in southern Hanoi and create urban development momentum in Hoàng Mai, Thanh Xuân, and nearby areas.
Premium gym chains are entering a “golden era” that is ending or already in decline, as rising operating costs collide with shifting consumer preferences toward more flexible, community-based ways to exercise. Long-term memberships are shrinking, margins are pressured by higher rents and facility expenses, and competition from smaller, more personalized…
