PVOIL, the Vietnam Oil and Gas Corporation, has completed preparations and is ready to deploy the sale of E10 bio
fuel gasoline nationwide from May 15, 2026. Previously, starting August 1, 2025, PVOIL launched a trial sale of E10 RON95 in Hanoi and Hải Phòng, later expanding to the central and southern regions. By April 2026, 558 of its nearly 1,000 fuel stations were selling E10. The pilot aimed to evaluate product quality, system operation, and consumer feedback. The results show that the E10 blended and supplied by PVOIL meets the technical standards, runs stably on various vehicles, and received positive customer feedback, gradually helping the market and consumers become familiar with the new fuel.
From a professional viewpoint, according to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Huu Tuyen, Director of the Center for Research on Propulsion and Autonomous Vehicles at Hanoi University of Technology, E10 enables cleaner and more efficient combustion, maintaining engine performance equivalent to traditional gasoline while reducing emissions. The fuel has been widely used in the United States, Brazil, and Thailand for many years, demonstrating stability and safety in practice.
Alongside the pilot, PVOIL has invested in upgrading blending facilities at its fuel depots, from tanks and pipelines to the blending and loading systems. There are now 13 depots qualified for E10 blending, together with a network of nearly 1,000 fuel stations nationwide ready to meet rollout demands.
Mr. Le Trung Hung, Deputy General Director of PVOIL, stated: "PVOIL has proactively prepared all conditions to deploy E10 biofuel gasoline, from feedstock, blending system, storage to the distribution network. The company has invested in upgrading infrastructure and finalizing technical procedures to ensure safe and efficient deployment of E10, meeting market demand and aligning with the government’s biofuel development plan."
On blending capacity, to prepare for mass deployment of E10 according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s timetable, PVOIL has converted part or all of the E5 blending facilities to blend E10; at the same time upgrading systems, reorganizing tanks, and installing new E10 blending systems and pipelines to meet demand and share with other distributors if needed. In addition, PVOIL has invested to upgrade ethanol storage at source depots to take on the role of importer and ethanol distribution center for blending facilities in neighboring areas.
During the initial phase, PVOIL will continue to supply both RON95 and E10 to give customers options; it will intensify communication, coordinate with agents and customers to provide information about rollout and benefits of E10. PVOIL has also prepared technical manuals, trained staff, and implemented broad system-wide communications.
In sum, from production to infrastructure and supply, PVOIL has completed readiness to ensure supply when rolling out E10 nationwide. Additionally, PVOIL is ready to provide toll blending of E10 for other distributors to ensure overall market supply during the transition.
With coordinated investment in infrastructure, resources and distribution, PVOIL believes it can ensure stable, continuous E10 supply and meet market demand in the near future.
