Quang Ninh breaks ground on the province's first wind power project, Quang Ninh 1, with a capacity of 200 MW and an investment of about VND 7,300 billion. On 23 April, Quang Ninh broke ground on the province's first wind power plant with total investment of about VND 7,300 billion and capacity of 200 MW. This is the province's first wind power project, implemented in line with the national electricity development plan for the period 2021-2030 with a vision to 2050. The project has a capacity of 200 MW, includes 32 wind turbines with modern technology, with a total investment of about VND 7,300 billion. When put into operation in 2028, the plant is expected to supply nearly 600 million kWh of clean electricity per year. The local leaders pressed the start button for Quang Ninh 1 wind power project. The event was attended by Le Van Anh, Vice Chairman of Quang Ninh People's Committee, who emphasized that the groundbreaking marks an important step in the energy transition from brown to green and toward sustainable development. To ensure the project progresses on schedule and quality, provincial leaders require the investor to concentrate resources, apply modern technology, and comply with technical, environmental, and safety regulations. The Quang Ninh 1 wind power project will not only provide clean energy but also open up new development opportunities for the region, creating jobs, increasing local budget revenue, and driving improvements in infrastructure and services as part of a broader economic restructuring.
