On the morning of May 13, 2026, the 11th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for the 2026–2031 term held its closing session. In her closing remarks, Bùi Thị Minh Hoài, a Politburo member and Secretary of the Central Committee, and President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for the XI term, said the Congress had completed its program after 2.5 days of intensive, serious, responsible, and effective work.
The Congress took place as Vietnam faced both favorable conditions and opportunities alongside difficulties and challenges. It was held shortly after the successful 14th Party Congress and the elections of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for 2026–2031.
The event also marked the first Congress since the Front reorganized its organizational model—described as a milestone in unifying and reorganizing political-social organizations and mass associations under the Front. The remarks emphasized that this affirms the Front’s central political position and role in building the bloc of national unity and in operating effectively under the new model.
The Congress focused on a comprehensive assessment of the results of implementing the 10th Congress’s Resolution (2024–2026), including identifying limitations and difficulties and drawing lessons. It unanimously approved the orientation, tasks, objectives, and the action program for the 2026–2031 term.
According to the closing session, the approved program includes:
The Congress was honored to hear a directive speech by General Secretary and President To Lâm, described as particularly important, profound, and comprehensive. The closing remarks said the guidance for Front work in the new period provided encouragement and strategic direction for the Front system to continue innovating content and modes of operation and to act more decisively and effectively.
The Congress resolved to seriously absorb all directives and translate them into an action program.
From the forum of the Congress, Bùi Thị Minh Hoài urged social strata, ethnic groups, religions, intellectuals, artists, entrepreneurs, and overseas Vietnamese to elevate patriotism and national pride and to maintain absolute trust in the leadership of the Party and the State.
Participants were also called to actively contribute intellect and effort, work hard in production, and continually strengthen the national unity bloc alongside the power of the era—aiming to build a peaceful, independent, democratic, wealthy, prosperous, civilized, and happy Vietnam and advance toward socialism.
