Domestic airfares for the 30-4 and 1-5 holidays rose by about 5–8% compared with the previous week, as many popular travel routes saw higher ticket prices. A survey of economy-class fares (including taxes and fees) shows that prices vary by carrier and route, with several routes reaching full or near-full occupancy.
On the Hanoi–Ho Chi Minh City route, economy-class fares range from 3.8 to 4.5 million VND depending on the airline. Vietnam Airlines and Bamboo Airways list the highest levels at roughly 4.2–4.5 million VND, while VietJet Air ranges from 3.5–4.2 million VND and Vietravel Airlines from about 3.6–4.1 million VND.
Most routes to major destinations recorded occupancy rates of 80% to 100%, with fares staying high on travel routes during the holiday period.
On April 29, the Ho Chi Minh City–Da Nang route is priced at 2.9–3.5 million VND with Vietnam Airlines, while VietJet Air and Bamboo Airways are in the 2.1–2.9 million VND range.
The Hanoi–Da Nang route records 2.9–4.0 million VND with Vietnam Airlines, while other carriers range from 2.4–3.2 million VND.
Longer-haul routes are generally more expensive. For Hanoi–Phu Quoc, Vietnam Airlines reaches 5.0–5.5 million VND, while VietJet Air is 3.5–5.0 million VND. The Ho Chi Minh City–Phu Quoc route is 2.0–3.2 million VND, and Hanoi–Cam Ranh is about 3.8–4.6 million VND.
Ticket prices increased sharply toward the end of the holiday. On May 3, the Cam Ranh–Hanoi route by VietJet Air is listed at 4.2–4.6 million VND, and many other flights have sold out of economy seats.
From Cam Ranh back to Ho Chi Minh City, VietJet Air tickets are around 2.2–2.6 million VND, while Vietnam Airlines is 2.8–3.4 million VND.
For the Hanoi–Phu Quoc route on May 3, most economy seats are sold out. The return to Ho Chi Minh City shows Vietnam Airlines at 2.3–3.2 million VND, while other carriers are around 2.1–2.6 million VND.
Along with higher fares, booking rates on travel routes from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City rose quickly during peak days. In the early holiday period (April 25, 26, and April 29–30), many routes to destinations recorded occupancy of 80–100%, including Ho Chi Minh City–Phu Quoc, Ho Chi Minh City–Tuy Hoa, Ho Chi Minh City–Con Dao, Ho Chi Minh City–Pleiku, Hanoi–Tuy Hoa, Hanoi–Nha Trang, Hanoi–Da Nang, and Hanoi–Dong Hoi.
On the return, demand increased toward the end of the holiday as travelers headed back to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, with many routes reaching over 80% booked.
Despite the overall tight supply, the Hanoi–Ho Chi Minh City trunk route still has more availability, with average occupancy around 30–50%, giving travelers more options for flight times during the holiday.
