Foreign investors maintained a selling bias on April 7, with a reported net outflow of about 781 billion dong. Investor sentiment turned cautious as market participants weighed new variables linked to Middle East tensions and news related to FTSE’s upgrade, keeping trading activity largely contained within a narrow range.
At the close, the VN-Index edged up by nearly 3 points to 1,677. Liquidity, however, remained weak: turnover on HOSE was just over 14 trillion dong, suggesting many funds stayed on the sidelines.
On HOSE, foreigners recorded a net sale of about 825 billion dong. On the buy side, VIC was the top foreign buyer with more than 53 billion dong, followed by DGC with 33 billion dong and VCK with 31 billion dong.
Bank stocks were among the areas facing the strongest foreign selling pressure. TCB was the heaviest seller at 179 billion dong. HDB and MBB were also sold by foreigners, at 183 billion dong and 141 billion dong, respectively.
On HNX, foreigners shifted to net buying of 42 billion dong. PVS led with 27 billion dong, while IDC followed with 13 billion dong. Foreign investors also bought SHS, CEO, and TNG.
On UPCOM, foreigners posted a smaller net buy of 2 billion dong. MSR was bought by 2 billion dong, while F88 and VEA recorded net buys of a few hundred million dong each. In contrast, ACV saw a net foreign sell of 1 billion dong, alongside selling in QNS and other tickers.
