Ms. Truong Nguyen Thien Kim, wife of Mr. To Hai—a member of Vietcap’s Board of Directors (VCI)—has registered to sell all of her 16.9 million VCI shares, representing 1.47% of capital. The transaction is expected to be conducted via a negotiated method from April 13 to May 12, with the stated aim of addressing personal needs.
Ms. Thien Kim’s registration covers the sale of her entire 16.9 million VCI shares. The deal is planned to take place through a negotiated method between April 13 and May 12.
On the stock exchange, Vietcap shares closed on April 7 at 27,200 dong per share, up 6% year-to-date from the start of the year. Based on this closing price, the value of Ms. Thien Kim’s VCI holdings is approximately 460 billion dong.
Vietcap is a securities company chaired by Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Phuong. However, Mr. To Hai remains the sole largest shareholder, holding 15.19% of capital, equivalent to more than 129.1 million shares. Mr. To Hai resigned from the role of CEO of Vietcap late last year but continues to serve as a member of the Board of Directors.
Ms. Thien Kim is described as a female entrepreneur with multiple leadership roles in listed companies, including: member of the Board of Directors of LOF International Dairy (IDP), independent board member of Ben Thanh Trading and Services (BTT), and member of the Supervisory Board of Western Bus Station (WCS). She is also noted as being behind the beverage brands Katinat and Phê La.
The Katinat chain was founded in early 2016, with Ms. Thien Kim as one of three founding shareholders. By 2020, the chain expanded after Cafe Katina Joint Stock Company was established to manage and invest. The company has charter capital of 38 billion dong, and Ms. Thien Kim owns 84.21%.
Phê La Joint Stock Company (the entity that manages and operates the Phê La chain) was established at the end of 2022, with charter capital of 180 billion dong. Ms. Thien Kim holds 51% of the capital and serves as Chairman of the Board. The remaining shareholders are Ms. Nguyen Hanh Hoa (36%) and Mr. Nguyen Hoang (13%).
