On April 7, 2026, the National Assembly approved the organizational structure of the Government for the 16th tenure. The structure comprises 14 ministries and 3 ministerial agencies.
The session began with a morning hearing from 9:35 to 9:55, during which Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính presented the proposal on the government’s organizational structure. The Parliament also heard the Report on the verification of the government’s organizational structure by the Jurisprudence and Legal committees.
Following discussions, the National Assembly discussed and voted to approve the content of the government’s organizational structure for the 16th tenure using an electronic voting system.
According to the electronic voting outcome, 488 deputies participated in voting. All 488 deputies approved the proposal, representing 100% of the deputies present and 97.60% of the total number of deputies.
The Assembly then heard Le Quang Manh, a member of the Standing Committee, present the draft Resolution on the government’s organizational structure for the 16th tenure. The National Assembly approved the Resolution by electronic voting, with 488 votes in favor (100% of deputies present; 97.60% of the total).

After the Prime Minister is elected, he will take the oath and deliver an inaugural speech. The Assembly will then proceed to elect the Vice President, Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court, and Prosecutor General of the Supreme People’s Procuracy.
