Many banks have announced plans to pay dividends and issue bonus shares in 2026 during the annual shareholder meeting season, with payout rates and capital-raising plans varying by institution.
Vietcombank (VCB) has published documents for its 2026 annual general meeting, including a plan to expand charter capital by issuing 1,068 billion bonus shares to existing shareholders from the supplementary capital reserve fund through the end of 2023.
MB set out a 2025 dividend plan with a total payout of up to 25%. The bank plans to use 12,082 billion VND to pay stock dividends and 8,055 billion VND to pay cash dividends (10%), bringing the total to about 20,137 billion VND.
Asia Commercial Bank (ACB) is expected to pay a total dividend rate of 20% this year, comprising about 3,600 billion VND in cash dividends (7%) and more than 6,600 billion VND in stock dividends (13%). ACB also plans to issue up to 667 million shares to increase charter capital to 58,000 billion VND, expected in Q2 2026.
VPBank plans to pay a 5% cash dividend, equivalent to about 3,966 billion VND, in Q2–Q3 2026. The bank also plans to issue shares from retained earnings at a ratio of 26.04% to raise charter capital to 100,000 billion VND. As a result, the combined cash dividend and bonus-share rate for VPBank is over 31%.
HDBank will present a plan to pay stock dividends at an expected rate of 30%, funded from undistributed profits in 2025, amounting to about 14,136 billion VND. Specific details on issuing shares to pay dividends have not yet been disclosed. The bank previously paid nearly 30% in dividends and bonus shares in 2025, higher than its annual general meeting plan.
VIB is expected to pay a 9% cash dividend and issue an additional 9.5% in bonus shares to existing shareholders.
MSB proposed issuing up to 20% in stock dividends to existing shareholders, equivalent to up to 624 million shares. Funds would come from undistributed post-tax profits and the capital reserve to supplement charter capital.
Nam A Bank has approved a plan to issue 343.1 million bonus shares, equivalent to 20%, to increase charter capital from equity.
SeABank plans to issue 583.8 million shares to pay dividends to shareholders at a rate of over 20.5%. The issue is funded by undistributed post-tax profits, with a total issue value of about 5,838 billion VND at par.
KienLongBank (Kiên Long) will propose paying dividends of up to 29.5% in stock, equivalent to issuing up to 170.6 million additional shares.
In addition to dividend payouts, several banks’ plans for 2026 also include charter capital expansion through bonus-share issuance and share issuance from retained earnings or reserves.
