Four methods to verify mobile subscriptions. From 15 April 2026, all users nationwide will receive a notification on the VNeID app about the list of mobile numbers registered under their personal information. To verify a subscription, users must have a VNeID identity verification at level 2 or a chip-based citizen identification, then choose one of four methods: online via the National Identification app VNeID, via the telecom operator's app, or visit a telecom service point, or at points authorized by the telecom operator. According to Circular 08/2026/TT-BKHCN dated 31 March 2026 by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the verification of mobile subscription information is mandatory to ensure data accuracy of mobile users, while helping to reduce spam SIMs and prevent high-tech fraud. Subscriptions that have not completed verification, are not confirmed on VNeID, or have information not matching the National Population Database will be notified and processed step by step, from one-way service suspension to two-way, progressing toward revoking the number if information is not provided as required. Notably, in cases where a subscription has already been registered and verified previously using a level-2 electronic identification account or a chip-based citizen ID, users will not need to re-verify, unless there is a change in the device used. Currently, network operators have prepared flexible support channels for customers throughout the verification process. For example, VinaPhone customers abroad can verify their mobile subscription remotely via the MyVNPT app combined with a chip-embedded citizen ID, enabling quick, safe, convenient completion without returning to the country, while maintaining seamless connectivity wherever they are. In particular, for the elderly, those who do not use smartphones, residents in remote areas, border and island regions, or groups needing special assistance, VinaPhone will coordinate with local police to provide on-site verification at the residence. Users can also look up their personal phone numbers via VNeID by selecting the Documents Wallet, then choosing Phone Number. If an unfamiliar number is detected not registered under their name, press the "report violation" button in the app so the mobile operator can notify the implicated number.
