On the afternoon of April 6, Hanoi City Police held a press conference to update the public on the city’s security situation, results in maintaining public order, and several typical cases. Colonel Chu An Thanh, head of the Economic Crime Investigation Department (PC03) for economic crimes, corruption, and smuggling, provided further information about the case involving Bao Tin Minh Chau Co., Ltd.
During the investigation, authorities seized numerous documents and raw gold. Police said they are clarifying the origin of the gold to determine the appropriate handling measures.
In response to reporters’ questions about customers who reportedly bought gold but only received appointment slips, Colonel Chu An Thanh said that, to date, Hanoi Police have not received any complaints or reports from the public. “This is a civil transaction. If there are complaints or reports, Hanoi Police will clarify each case,” he stated, adding that Bao Tin Minh Chau continues to operate normally and protect customers’ rights.

Searches at Bao Tin Minh Chau’s premises and related entities led to the seizure of 23.3 billion VND in cash, seven red-book documents, and a large quantity of gold and silver items.
The investigation continues as authorities pursue additional evidence and verify the origins of the materials involved.
